Reports are surfacing that GM may go under by the end of this month, if something doesn't happen. Surely, Ford and Chrysler are hot on their heels.

I do not think that bailing them out is such a good idea, why perpetuate a failed ideology?

There was writing on the wall for many years before it came to this point, and, typical to American mentality, GM/Ford/Chrysler IGNORED the warning to change, IGNORED the reality that people needed economical, dependable vehicles, not hulking dinosaurs that hogged gas, the road, and constantly needed servicing.

I figured it out a long time ago, all I have owned for 15 years have been Toyotas and Hondas.

The auto industry situation is actrually the American situation in microcosm....
CHANGE or DIE.

Things cannot ba allowed to continue under the old 'status quo'....following tradition and custom is what has screwed everything up so bad.

Bailing them out simply re-inforces this attitude.....now, I understand that there are a lot of people who will lose their jobs, and that there are related areas that will be affected as well, but I really can't be that sympathetic, because the CHANGE is more urgently needed than a continuation of the sameold same old.....there are other jobs.

This culture needs to CHANGE, dammit.

Forget about traffic jams, accidents, fossil fuels and having to wash your car, the new UFO-25 is powered by zero point energy and is shielded with a hyperdimensional magnetic field that doesn't require cleaning. Go to your local UFO dealer, and get yourself the UFO-25!

Spice, I got to thinking about what you might look like in person. This is what I came up with -

Eh? Eh? I'm close aren't I?

America is turning into a socialist state where companies are helped by collective money in return for staying in business.

Forkbender a dit:
America is turning into a socialist state where companies are helped by collective money in return for staying in business.

What I meant to say is that people shouldn't flush their money down the drain if the economic tide has turned.

Forkbender- Well, the country is officially in a 'recession' as of now, and the only way the tide has turned is for the worse. I think that the bailout is just their idea of how to stave off the 'domino effect', where other industries that are similar in situation to GM, etc., will fail if the big three auto giants are allowed to go belly up.

*NEWS FLASH*

Darwinism applies in this scenario.....ADAPT, Goddammit....OR DIE.

I have NO sympathy for a bunch of fat--ass old white men who hard-headedly REFUSE to change.....I think we would be better off, in the long run, if we ACCELERATED their demise.

This shit MUST end.

It is a matter of cultural life and death.

yeh, fukem and all other car manufacturers

there are 531 million carbon crappers already. thats just the cars

if you walked up to somebody and sprayed hydrogen cyanide in someones face, or pumped carbon monoxide into their house you would be sent to prison for a long time.
either every car that passed me today was fueled with marzipan or they were pumping out cyanide into my air supply. not to mention the HCl nipping my nose

ring the change

I think a lot of it is propoganda . Its not a depression or resesion . No one is selling bread for a million dollars . No ones is bringing their wages home in a wheelbarrow . They are justkeeping the screws on . If you watch british and american "news" programs they are pushing it as hard as is possible . If you look at other sources its not the only thing thats happenening , there is other news .

Everyone new when the rich started holding their hands out that if they got money once they will get it again . Its an endless drain and we pay . We lost because of bad credits and price rises . We lost our jobs and houses . We payed the money they get with our taxes . And their friends in politics cant come up with a sensible , honnest plan that finds out why it happened , who has what responsibility and how to stop it happening again . There also has to be acountability and the money must all be payed back with profit for the general public .

In the stoneage people were anarchist ..... they did what they wanted and looked after themselves . Then the nesecitys of life = hunger kicked them in the arse and said alone as an anarchist you cant hunt big animals . You organise yourself and take on the same behaviour . Spread out , form two arms , make loads of noise and drive all the animals into a hole , off a cliff or into the water .

Life hasnt changed . They organise themselves , form an elite , abuse their opertunitys and fill us with problems , blame , guilt and a sense of impotency . Tell us about conspiracys , destroy our trust , talk about the climate cackastrophy , trees dying , those nice cuddly white ( = pure and clean . ) polarbears dying in serengety , commets , female castration , racism , greed , wars , terrorists , militants , fundamentalists , taxes , debts , AIDS , religeon and the press = shake the carpet under our feeet , get us stampeeding headlessly and without responsibility or controll and MILK US . Mice in a treadmill and every time they pass go they pay 200$ taxes .

GOD a dit:
That's the point why we "normal" people don't feel the recession (besides propaganda). It is like two systems in one, the one above (the elitists) working for themselves. Still, unfortunately, if the elitists get broke, we will finally get broke, too. A lot of people (all??) have their money in the banks and if this system collapses, we will lose everything, too. Yeah, that would bring some anarchism and freedom but also death and unhappiness. We have destroyed all means of survival, we can't go to gather berries in a forest because we have no forests... It's either continuing the downward spiral or dying.

The republicans are voting against. Wow.

And now the white house tries to incorporate saving the autoindustry with money from the 700 b$ bailout. Fighting fire with fire once again.

"We got too much debt, so we create more debt to get out of debt."

I am against the Bail out.

I am one of the many being directly effected by all of this. My father is going to lose his home, my mother lost 25,000$ in a Fund,

and

I am being laid off for Quite a while.

This IS Happening, It may be infused with propaganda, but everything is anyways.

We are entering a depression.

There will be an event in January no later than the 22nd, which will make History

NorthCOM forces were increased 10 fold in October, many presidential directives were created by the Bush Administration, we will all be required to carry national ID cards no later than the end of fiscal 2009.

Take a Hint?

My father is getting cut and losing his home, my mother lost 25,000$ when the markets crashed, and I am also getting cut as of Dec. 23rd (we both work for the auto industry).

Event will potentially be "Terrorist" related.

FluidDruid im also sorry it will efect you personaly

BTW if you are going to do it do it but never print it. im sure you now have Their full attention.

good luck with the future

Isn't it more fascism than socialism when the state has such close ties with private industries? I mean the powerful forces collaborate and deceive the common people with populism. Sounds fascist to me.
Either way it's everything they tell the people they should be afraid of...

Might be. But it will collapse either way.
