The problem is you are both talking about basic principles that are extremely hard to change.

LSD doesn't say that socialism (or optimistic nihilism as I would call your point of view) is good but needs control, he/she says that capitalism is "good" and needs control.

So my 2 cents:

I don't like capitalism although it originally provided a lot of freedom. And I agree that nowadays people are NOT ready for socialism/nihilism/anarchy.

But I do agree that if you have capi, you need some control. Because without that: monopoly, war out of self interest, rich get richer etc.

OF COURSE it is a MAJOR problem when the state doesn't act as a guard but plays the game of lies and power (US!Russia!). The military can be control and dictatorship. Nowadays it is, depeding on the globe, both.

After WWII Germany, France, Russia, UK, Italy and others were ruins, they lost a lot of people during the war. E.g. Russia lost more than 1 million soldiers. But not only that: Berlin, Köln were ruins etc etc and the only Country that didn't really participate and have fights at its country was the US. They didn't lose money.

Or WWI, after which whole Europe owed money to the US!!!!

the problem in conceptualization seems to be that the USA (and also referred to as the USA) represents both sides (all the people who live there and who are part of it), which would be all rich people and all poor people and that would include the government and the population.

If I remember correctly, Germany took it in the shorts pretty well. The USA helped them all rebuild. i wasnt worried about anything leaking and affecting the world, but yet my mind. i no longer feel frightened however, i think it was just the initial shock of finding something like this happening to me.

Reading this entire thread I can see how it has taken an entirely different direction since your original post. Just to return to the point - how are you doing now Drumcircle? It sounded like you were at some sort of personal crisis when you first posted.

Drumcircle, in my experience if you want to find out what your subconscious mind is trying to tell you then you must first occupy your conscious mind with something else otherwise it tries to fill in the gaps. find something else to occupy your mind and the answer you seek will bubble up of its own accord. a bit like when you are trying to remember something and cant. you remember spontaneously while occupied with something else. it works for me, it may be worth a try

I'm against war as much as anyone. What I won't stand for is to be attacked or bullied. I would respond quickly and precisely. It is the best deterrent. That said, I definitely don't agree with everything the 'shrub' has done, however, America hasn't been attacked since. Intelligence is paramount. You can't talk your way out of being attacked. Geez. People who are violent should be taken out with violence. It's a sad reality. Sorry if we disagree, but if I was being picked on at school or something, I would fight back. Not try to appease my aggressor. I wouldn't go around the world trying to impose 'Democracy', however. America has plenty of her own problems. And yes, propaganda is everywhere. Up until now, the USA has in fact dominated the world economically, and militarily. But the young in the USA are becoming weak. They are buying into the socailism thing slowly but surely. Who doesn't want something for nothing? The problem with that is the obvious one size-never-fits-all inefficient way government accomplishes things. Remember East Germany?

Let's see, 23 wars, and we lost them all. 24 if you include WWII. Yet they're still there. Hmmmm......

IMO we have to get rid of the knee-jerk primate responses such as the urge to dominate others and rule. we may not be able to change the whole world but the only intelligent thing to do is change your self.

dont get me wrong here. there is nothing wrong with being American. its just that America only protects those who have something America wants. America is more like the fat slightly thick school bully who offers protection for your lunch money. there is nothing America does out of altruism. its all self interest. maybe that is easier to see if you dont live there. the average american uses 5 times the resources the average European uses and most of it is waste. your country is leading the whole planet into hell. and before you think of an argument against this you should know i am an earth scientist with a deep understanding of how things work with the planet, not an ill informed hippy. i wish it was otherwise but its a fact. America is the worse offender
