I spent more of my days in high school daydreaming than passing math. One day we ended up talking about space and dimensions and such, a subject which intimately interested me. I got to thinking, well if there's a bunch of dimensions and galaxies, black holes, wormholes and the akin in space, is it possible for there to be something larger than a dimension?

This is where I came up with an idea.

We often think of space as singular. We refer to space like there's only one. So this had me thinking about the possibility of many 'space systems'

The idea I wrote (and it has been rewritten since my idiotic days of high school) states that space is indeed a grid. Infinite in all directions, containing galaxies, planets, etc etc. But that's just one grid, right? In math the teacher has us write down many grids on one sheet of paper. Each to their own are in fact, infinite in all directions, much like how our space system works. So my thinking is there possibly could be something larger at play here: a system of infinite space systems which lay on a large plane, or something else. Or perhaps it doesn't. Perhaps they're not connected at all.

Here's a visual of what I'm talking about:

grid1.jpg

Space system I: infinite in all directions; containing universes, dimensions and the akin.

grid2.jpg

Space system II: infinite in all directions; containing universes, dimensions and the akin.

And so on. It's quite possible that there could be an infinite number of spacial systems, which are inevitably unconnected to each other though things such as black holes which lay in our system.

Now, as a Psychonaut, my thinking is that the only way to visit the planets and people within these alternate systems is though use of hallucinogenic psychedelics. This indeed raises the question of what the nature of these molecules do, Ie: an argument stating that psychedelics merely react upon brain receptors, confusing the brain into a dream-like state, hence why you trip out; or, these molecules react with the receptor and truly launch your soul into some random planet floating in, say-- Space system IV. It's quite possible, I'd say.

My thinking is if my tiny human brain could come up with an idea such as this, it's entirely possible that there could be something even larger than my idea in play right now. In retrospect, it's kinda like the ending scene in Men in Black II, where Will opens up a door in the main office and there's a whole universe laying in front of him, or in MIB I, where that Alien is playing marbles and each marble contains a galaxy, or universe.

I'd love to hear some feedback on this hypothesis. Let me know what you guys think.

What your talking about is alternate universes. It's like taking our 3-dimensions, flattening it into a plane, and stacking planes on top of each other, that do not interact but are there.

... I for one don't believe in this because I believe everything is connected, if some thing isn't connected, it doesn't exist. So says choas theory, and so says Q.M.

You say we can only preceive these alternate universes through psychadelics. I think this is an immature thought, no offense intended, honest, but these thoughts aren't very productive.

Here is something to rather think about, which has a very close possibility to reality: The universe we live in is in fact only two dimensional. We are indeed, only on a plane, but our ability for thought allows a three dimensional illusion of turning. This is impossible to grasp but there is indeed, no reason why it isn't true.

Also, think as if time does not exist, and the only experience of time, takes place because of chemical reactions. Chemical reactions for whatever reason, allow us to experience time. It is an odd thing to think about, maybe impossible to think about. But there is no reason we should expereicne time other than that which is within the neuropath-ways

You remind me of me a little bit in highschool, in chemistry class and math I would rather be drawing graphs of Observed versus Real velocities. Relativity was a very large problem during my last 2 years of highschool I only finally figured it out in my first year of college (1 week before our physics class went over it)... (God that made me mad! All that pondering and THEN they explain it)

There is the fact that a photon, if it were able to "see" it would be "living" or existing in a 2-dimensional plane. The faster your velocity, the shorter your distance is between two objects. Once you reach the speed of light, all space in front and behind of you becomes null. A photon leaving the sun is both at the earth and the sun at the same time. To its sides, however is an infinte expanse of space. If it rotates, the direction it is proceeding into becomes space-less again however, and since the photon experiences no time, its rotations are constant at all angles, so the universe is a singularity for a photon.

Tahdah, thank god for not paying attention in calculus.

@ IJesusChrist:

I don't think you're grasping my idea. I'm not talking about a dimension, or alternate universes, It's beyond that.

Take two pieces of paper. Label one of them ONE, and the other TWO. Then of the two as two separate space systems. Again, we refer to space as singular. We say and act like there's only one space. Think outside that. Two, or more space systems-- something that would be beyond a dimension or universe which does not lie within the space you and I know of. It'd be somewhere else, and no where else.

See?
