Ok, I found this video about Ron Paul, Congresman of Texas.
A republican that has quite a refreshing view on things going on in the US.
He's running for President and is getting more and more followers.
What do you guys think?
I'm not from the States and what the hell do I know?
But I this this man really has a lot to offer.
(only his views on right to bear arms...)

In this video he speaks at at Google.

And this video is the short 10 minute promotional vid, with wrong Soundtrack music and Simon & Garfunkel's Sounds of Silence, wich shows some of his points of view, but is mostly promotional...

Fuck politics really..

politics is so fucked up that it can actually be quite interesting..and frustrating...

but oh well, thats just my opinion..

Lion a dit:

yeah. it's wise not to care who is going to influence your life in many ways
I don't quite understand the ignorance many people have if it comes to politics.

No one influences my life but me. I'm a free person, i make my own decisions. Wether they are "illegal" or not.

So fuck those 800.000 people a year who get arrested in the States for posession???
The States need a better view on substances wich we can only dream of happening when the whole system is adjusted to better standards.
So yeah, I DO think a better President in the US must get elected.
If you don't have anything to say about the subject why bother reacting?

It's a common fact that USA needs a better president.
But what makes you think that this guy will become any better then G. Bush when he's got all that power. ALL the power off the world....

hahaha

no need to talk any further.

Why would i ?
I long for freedom not captivity

In germany they say people dont realise that they are on a chain untill they start to rattle it , and then they realise how short it is . Here we had a green party who promised us the world , including legalisation ....... untill they got into power and then they proved that they are exactly the same as all the others . We had a foreign minister Joschka Fischer who used to sell hash and trips and be part of the squater scene and he turned into a real nazi bastard when he got into power and just lied and lied and lied to us . Fuck political partys , as the name says they take party ..... for themselves and their rich friends . Think about how many voters there are in your country , then how many people actualy vote , and then how many of them vote for the winning party . Work the numbers out and you will see that its about 10 - 15 percent of the population . Just like George bush who got 12% of the population to vote for him , after cheating and having the votes in two places , florida and ohio counted falsly by his brother and his friends . Think about the fact that 88% of the population didnt vote for him . Thats not democracy . There is no democracy .

So basically you say that we are doomed if it comes to politics?

But when there is only some change in your local area, its likely that you will notice almost nothing. thats so fucked about politics you need big changes to notices effects.
Thats why i partly hate local politics, they promise alot of shit but they can't do anything big without national approval.

The elections in the US aren't no small local elections, they can make a big difference in the world.

The only way that i prefere Gravel is, that he would ( i hope he would :P ) introduce some sort of new way, to make rules or laws.
By letting the people vote for or against it.

Dont know if that works especially when it comes to fraude in elections and stuff like that..
but hey, if you didn't try the new way, you probably never know..

When I was over in North America, I found out that Ron Paul is really popular. I mean, almost every independent bookstore has a poster with Ron Paul for President on it. In most polls he's a contender for the top republican. I find it very strange that in the Dutch media we don't hear anything about him.

GOD you are right to some extent. I mean I don't know too much about joschka fischer and so on. I just heard that the red-green coalition didn't work out. what me really pissed off about that is that many people say that in austria it would be the same. hey fuck that, our parties are way different.
now with have a red-black coalition and it sucks hard. if you want right-conservatist politics you can continue voting red, it's really like that over here. they deke left but run around right in the end.

MindAstronaut a dit:
Ron Paul is oke, and is way beter then most of the other candidates.
But i find "Mike Gravel" senator of Alaska supprisingly good.
And if i was a American citizen i would definitely vote for this guy.

Wow his plans sound good!
I can't wait till 2008, this could be the beginning of another era (or the continuity of the current situation)

"So basically you say that we are doomed if it comes to politics? "

No , what are politics / polytricks , = telling lies to people for power , and why do we need them ? The word doomed is your choice of word not mine . I`m just being realistic , when have politicians ever done anything for anyone anywhere exept themselves ? Why has the world got so many easy to solve problems ? I am against partys = political mafia groups .

"The elections in the US aren't no small local elections, they can make a big difference in the world. "

Theoreticaly . When has an american election ever made a long term diference to american foreign policy , or changed anything in the world for the good ?

"but hey, if you didn't try the new way, you probably never know.. "

Each generation trys "the new way" and nothing changes . In germany they say "If voting did anything it would be banned" , its just a pantomime for gulable people . If you keep making the same old mistakes you will never learn anything and never change anything . The world will stay as it has been and is now .

"I mean, almost every independent bookstore has a poster with Ron Paul for President on it."

Wich three people go in book stores like that in america ????

"I find it very strange that in the Dutch media we don't hear anything about him. "

I dont , its the same in every european country . Who controls the press in the world ???

Neither of those two people has even the slightest chance of becoming presedent . I will remind you of what i have said here in 2008 .

GOD a dit:
There is no democracy .

The dangerous thing is that people are convinced there is. They don't see their own chains and are therefore even more powerless than in tyranny, where one can see his own situation and is willing to revolt at some point.

In this specific case democracy crashed because those 88% didn't understood or didn't care that voting is a F*** duty...

I know a few people who always cry about this political guy beeing terrible, but when I ask them whom they voted for, most of the time they tell me that they didn't voted at all, and that's usually at this moment that I tell them that in this case they should just shut the fuck up...

I don't think you guys understand the gravity of what's being said by Ron Paul. This isn't just a little change here and there, waving off questions about corporatism or war for money, and merely symbolic-resolution for votes -- this is the dismantling of a government as we have come to know it.
