So what's the difference between apophenia and synchronicity?
"Apophenia is the experience of seeing meaningful patterns or connections in random or meaningless data." - Wikipedia
"Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events, that are apparently causally unrelated or unlikely to occur together by chance, that are observed to occur together in a meaningful manner." - Wikipedia
Metaphysical Assumptions of Science - there is no meaning outside of the human perception of meaning
Metaphysical Assumptions of Spiritualism (and it's many forms) - everything has implicit meaning, the world speaks in symbols
So is the concept of synchronicity just a jazzed up version of apophenia? Or is apophenia the beta version of synchronicity? Or are they completely different types of experience? ... Or something else?
