i have read that many, many different species of algae can have new and unstudied psicoactive components. try to imagine the sea full of nice, smokable algae...it would be free, legal (for some time) and we all would have an aquarium instead of pots.
my question is: has any study been taken on this subject yet ? when i think of the enourmous quantity of different species, so much bigger than "plants", i just feel like going to the beach and do some research myself!

thanks, heartcore...algae are a world yet to discover when it comes to psicoactive components!

True.

The chance of it being researched anytime soon is pretty slim though. Not a lot of scientists around who want to put time and money into finding psychoactive compounds, specially with the war on drugs going on.

then shall we wait for the second Hofmann-Messiah to come and set us free by the water.

"shall thou be released by the water and the psicoactive substances should be your friends!"

I´ve been waiting for something like this for a long time . I`m sure there is something nice out there somewhere in the ocean . I went to the link and spent an hour looking around . All the references seem to go round and round in circles each quoting each other and come back to one report :-

affecting individuals after consuming Caulerpa. (‘. mild numbness of the tongue, dizziness,. cold sensation in the feet and hands, difficulty in breathing ... and loss of balance. ’)

Other references use the word toxic or say it contains toxins . Caulerpa taxifolia is also known as the "killer alge" . Its the one that is causing so much trouble in the mediteranian see . Starting from the aqarium at nice . There are 51 references in google ....... but i cant find anything interesting . I tried every thing on the first page but it was all crap . I cant be bothered to look any more as it does not sound interesting for me .

LOVE GOD

The only reference to hallucinations i can find in conection with this sea weed is :- Some one claimed that a fish was sometimes halucinogenic and claimed that this was because it had been claimed that the fish eats it . As for alkaloids i found nothing . If anyone finds more or anything new on the subject i am interested , please let me know .

LOVE GOD
