Hello,
Time and time again, people think that by eating raw parsley leaves or ground nutmeg, they will get high. I recognize it is a possibility, albeit a somewhat dangerous one (ingesting too much of anything is bad news bears, usually). However, I have a different question:
If one were to extract myristicin from parsley leaves, what would be the effect of ingesting raw myristicin?
Is there any other way to use the myristicin (besides ingestion)?
How would one go about extraction (I understand you need parsley oil first, but that is easily accomplished by blanching, pureeing, then blending leaves of parsley w/ a small amount of vegetable oil)?
All of this is for educational purposes and purely hypothetical, of course. I apologize if I asked any very stupid questions; I could not find the answers I was looking for with my search engine alone.
Regards,
PsychoNewbie
