Not all drugs are illegal, you can use many drugs legally and be a psychonaut and police officer at the same time, why not ??

And if a police officer want to use illegal drugs (in Holland the use of drugs is never forbidden, only possession and sell), I won't blame him/her. This only shows how ridiculous the 'war on drugs' is: if a large quantity of the population is breaking the law, and doesn't harm anybody by doing this, what is the purpose of this law ?? /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think that everybody should be free to take whatever they want, but in the case of some jobs, like health, security, police forces, etc, they should not use drugs during their jobs, because if they are "high", they could make mistakes, putting lives at risk... but it's true... all should be free, and this way even the government should gain more money from the taxes, etc...

I am portuguese and I read something about Portugal beeing more liberal with drugs.... can anyone tell me more about this?

Well I agree that some drugs should be legal but there are some out that people should not do. For example heroin is considered the best drug in the world. The feeling you get is said to be indescribable. This is the type of drug that would make a sane man kill another person.

For reason like that drugs should be illegal.

Now on the other hand I do not think it is the governments place to say that natural drugs (Such as weed or shrooms) are illegal. They are made by God and censured by the government.

Shure, I agree with you. Not every drugs shoud be treated iqual, as they can be very diferrent. You can legalize some drugs but the ones like Heroine and Crack will always be used.
The mistake was made at the beginning of the 20th century by
starting the opiumlist 1 (schedule 1/2/3/etc..), if they never made rules about the compounds we use then there were no problems because only realy interrested people like psychonauts would use them.
It's a common fact that very much people use (illegal) drugs (recreationally) because they think it's cool and gives you a image (because drugs are criminalized by the media and world goverments they have the wrong image), those people are the ones who end up in
a hospital.

Sorry guys’ taking something away like that doesn’t protect them. If anything it hurts them. Think about it. Because drinking alcohol under a certain age is illegal in most countries. You noticed how when that law was passed all of the sudden drunk driving has became a national epidemic in underage teens.. On the other hand you don't see too many people over the age of 30 drunk driving.

The only reason kids are drinking under aged is because they want to rebel against... Whatever it is they need to rebel against. Breaking the law is the easiest way to do so. Now I bet if you took that law away you would find the drunk driving rate in teens go down. They no longer have that particular issue to rebel against.

I dont think drugs should be the highlight of any political agenda. It's ok to have a party who discriminates the use, but there are a lot of other questions and things to do, that are more important to defend. I also think that the best way to do all of this is to vote. Voting is the only way to make your opinion count... even if it counts just a little bit!

Well this being a drug forum and not a political one is why I said what I said. There are many issues to concider it's true...but concidering the majority of the world dissagrees with the current administration. I think it's time for a change and yes I will express this by casting my vote...

Holland is famous for it's weed but country's like Tjech Republic or France smoke more pot then we (dutch people) do.

The dutch government sucks when it comes to it's rules about weed... Sure a coffeeshop can sell weed but where's the weed coming from? WE DON'T CARE :idontknow: That's your problem! We just go out and try to find illigal growing sights because you can't have more than 5 plants... :think: We got a stupid-ass government don't we... Sure there are some legal growing sights but those are really too expensive and are mostly pointed to medicinal use...

So I'd say just legalize the whole growth! Doesn't matter how many plants you got! We should make rules for it though... Like you can get a fine for stealing power or if you don't got a filter and your whole neighboorhood starts to smell then you can get a fine... Stuff like that but THIS is stupid! :thud:

I'm also from holland, and the rules all so weird. But i'm very glad i have been born here. I allways think it such a sad picture when you see totelly stoned tourists who can not stand on there feet any longer. Just becouse there here and gonne smoke the whole day long.
I like'd to here the polls about canabis abuse in other countrees. Here you can buy it allmost everywher and we don't have much problems. In countrees where it is illigal, a lot of peaple use it, even more then here, and it allso a lot of times goes wrong. I'm glad to see this weird policy wordks out for now. I hope we soon will legelize it and that ouder countrees will follow, so less abusing will take place.

The other European countries are not really in for our policy... Or at least, politicians do not dare to actively support it... I think our government will resign to the EU more and more. The laws already become more and more strict, not only when it comes to drugs
