Swim injected the spores ikn the substrate while the vases where a bit warm... not too much,though... is this too bad?

How warm ? What sort of mushroom spores ?

Probably it was ok if you could handle the jar comfortably . Now you can only wait and see . Growing mushrooms takes patience and a method that one learns and sticks to . Otherwise one learns from trial and error . Doing practice runs first is always good , then you get to know exactly what you need to have and where and learn to understand the why of what you are doing . Method . Patience . Practice . Then leave them alone . A lot beginers play around with them to much and fuck them . Inoculate and then leave them alone untill you see that its time to fruit them .

I got patience. I want to try different things. I have time and materials for trial and error. I am not a wanna-be conusmer in a hurry

P.cubensis 'KC' strain, no idea where it comes from because they were bought from a friend 2-3 years ago. I also got other strains, well sealed of course.

This experiment was done with rye & verm as sub, as I waiting for the rice flour to arrive.

How warm.... hmmm hard to say, lukewark to warm, but definately not too warm and definately not burning!

Well there are a couple of things that could have gone wrong, but I hope I get some fruiting at the end! This was my first time, and it wasn't as organised as it could be, mostly because of first timers anxiety and the fact that as soon as you get to work in front of the oven, you should get it all done quickly.

Even if the outside is only warm, the inside can still be hot. And, I didn't think spores would hold for 2-3 years?

Another fatal mistake was also made I think I fucked it all up. I didn't sterilise the water I made the syringes.... I know, I know, I am an idiot...

What happens if the injected vases are in higher temparature, like 30 C ?

Or what happens if the temperature is too messy , up and down??

Important is what doesn't happen when the substrate is too hot :wink:
30°C is OK I think, but it's best to wait until the substrate has room temperature...

I would say 30C is gonna be close to a bad tempature for fruiting cakes, maybe drop it down 3-5 degrees, you have to remember the mycelium generates heat when it's growing and that the most suitable temp for growth is 27C.

But on the other hand, I live in a country full of Fahrenheit(?)Degrees and bad measurement systems. (WTF is up with the foot? Seriously) so I could be off with the temps in C.

Hmmm let me rephrase.... OK, we know that the suitable substrate temperature is 27 C ~ but what if it's messy, reaching 31 C, for the first 5 days? Would the mycelial growth be terminated, or just delayed/ held back... [maybe in advantage of other microorganisms??]

not that this all is not about fruiting cakes [yet], but storing for mycelium to grow...
