NASA to Announce Success of Long Galactic Hunt

WASHINGTON -- NASA has scheduled a media teleconference Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. EDT, to announce the discovery of an object in our Galaxy astronomers have been hunting for more than 50 years. This finding was made by combining data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory with ground-based observations.

The bets are open on what this discovery will be about!

^god's last message to his creation perhaps?

Or those clever chaps at nasa have discovered the sun

I can't think of what nasa have been looking for for over 50 years..

It'd be cool if it was intellegent life, but I think X-ray astronomy doesn't look for such things.

Probably going to be a huge anticlimax.

Mine's on 42 as well, just two huuuuuge 2D digits floating in space :D:D

Maybe it's a chunk of ice with some microscopic lifeforms frozen in it? Or a tiny black hole?

Maybe it's some of NASA's own stuff or a toolkit they'd lost 50 years ago in their attempt to go to the moon :D

that was it ? they found a supernova ?
what a dissapointment. i was hoping for something major to ignorant people like me...something that i could understand :)
"we found a supernova" isn't that appealing for me.
"we found god's toilet" - now, there's something that would catch my attention.
