Arc of Goa Weekend on the MS Stubnitz

All aboard for one of the most extraordinary, independent alternative music gatherings of this year; The Arc of Goa. After the amazing success of the Namasté Weekend in November 2007, travellers from all over the world and tribe members from the underground cultures will connect once more for not one, but two nights of eccentric dancing experience, noise and awareness. Pitchers with rum, spices, stunning decoration and a complete fleet of DJ's and musicians will be hoisted onto the MS Stubnitz shortly, as on the 17th and 18th of October The Arc of Goa will set sail to infinity and beyond.

hm ik was hier vorig jaar en hoewel de locatie/aankleding etc erg vet was vond ik het nogal druk, te druk om te dansen, dat is bij goa een beetje een minpuntje imho

Ik ben ook een aantal keer op de MS Stubnitz geweest. In Rotterdam en Amsterdam.
Echter niet op het Goa feest. Het laatste feest wat ik op de Stubnitz heb meegemaakt was van Mars Assualt.
Heb veel plezier gehad op die feesten. De Stubnitz is te gek.

Arc of Goa Weekend on the MS Stubnitz

All aboard for one of the most extraordinary weekends of this year; Namasté’s Arc of Goa Weekend on the MS Stubnitz. Travellers from around the world and tribe members from underground cultures will be gathering at the 17th and 18th of October for two nights of outrageous dance rituals. The pitchers with rum, spices, overwhelming decoration and a complete fleet of DJ’s and musicians will shortly be hoisted on deck of the MS Stubnitz, so that the Arc of Goa can raise its anchor to sail to a dimension where the innovating underground vibe is still vividly alive.

FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER – THE ARC OF GOA; CONNECTING THE TRIBES

On the Friday from 22.00 to 05.00 this cultural breeding spot will be the centre of Drum&Bass, Breakbeats, Reggae, Dubstep and other sounds alike from the underground. Namasté called for the tribe chiefs of these authentic dance-tribes to gather for a unique meeting between these subcultures.

Dogs on Acid – one of the largest online Drum&Bass / Jungle communities in the world - contributes to Caste 1 with the absolute Drum&Bass / Jungle headliner of this evening; Adam F (Breakbeat Kaos/Kiss FM/Metalheadz, UK). But also the contributions of the Dutch underground tribes should not be underestimated with Drum & Bass / Jungle sound systems like Lionstyle and Champion Sound, who put the metal load on the test with their torturing beats and breaks. Next to all these raging rhythms and tearing samples Caste 2 has room for the more laminated Breakbeats and eclectic Electropunk by five DJ’s from the musical sub layer of the local society. Skank Around Sound, Subway and Covenant Sound-Selectas will host Caste 3 together with rhythmic Reggae en wistful Dubstep. Their sunny ceremony of laidback vibes and trippy soundscapes will let you sit back and relax for a moment and burst into a euphoric dance the next moment. Caste 4 will be transformed into a Noize-room by the Stubnitz where you can explore the impressive atmosphere which is filled with sounds which do not seem to come from this world. In Caste 5 you can stay comfortable with delicious and righteous vegetarian snacks from The Golden Temple in a cosy environment of Chill Out and Ambient music.

SATURDAY 18 OCTOBER – THE ARC OF GOA

During the Saturday you can connect to the best of two worlds from 23.00 to 08.00. Not only the crème de la crème of the Goa/Psytrance-scene will stipulate the direction of this evening, but the driving beats of one of Holland’s most renowned Minimal organizations will make the visitors sing a little higher too.

Caste 1 is monopolized by the warm sounds and whipping structures of the British live-act Beatnik (Liquid Records/Nano Records, UK) and one of the best Psytrance DJ’s in the world - Shane Gobi (Alchemy Records, UK). Completed with a triad of Psytrance, Progressive en Full-on heroes of Dutch soil, the hallucinating soundscapes will be irresistible here and guarantee a night of dancing and trancing. For those who would rather have a portion of pulsating Minimal Techno which make you move from your little toe up to the tip of your nose, Caste 2 will be the place to be. There you can shake with pleasure on the playful bubbling minimal and yet thick beats of the founders of Berlin Undergound (Lofarmedia) and Kabale Und Liebe (Remote Area/100% Pure, NL). In Caste 3 one enjoys life to the fullest on danceable world music in the widest meaning of the word. Of course the infamous Chaishop live-jam cannot be missed here with Spanish, Chilean, Iranian, African and Indian influences merging into cultural and musical wallpaper. If you want to fill your backpack with inspiration, you are most welcome in Caste 4 where Healing heArts provides healing sessions. Caste 5 will be hosted again by The Golden Temple and provides space for titillating and nutritive vegetarian snacks in an ambiance of Chill Out and Ambient music.
