My first Time growing Shrooms!

Due to a o dry casing layer, shrooms only developed from the side of the container.

Here the harvest of 2 casings. One casing was a regular one, the second had a thicker casing layer and less mycelium (seemed to produce less).

For those who wanna know....
A casing can produce up to 6 flushes, 1ml of sporewater/syringe is used (10ml in a syringe) to make 1 casing.

Second flush is comming up, tommorow a cold shock will help the mycelium to pin.

This time I am much more aware of the needs...

The fun with shrooms is that when you start there is enough time to learn the rest you need to now.

How will lennarts Shrooms be? Need any help??????????????

Syringe is from Azarius! So the spores are in the syringe.

I read a lot, very much. I think all there is. And it helped very much 2.

WHat it cost me...

I think that you can start for less than 30 Euro. Maybe around 20 Euro.

But some things come in big amounts while little is needed.

Take a look at what I saw this morning, again to big for my terrarium. I had to open the glass lid again. I messured the big shroom.. 25cm..lol

Hello, i'm gonna start a mushroom culture and i was wondering about some technical elements...
In your technique, is there an important sterility requirement when you make the casing? (all the method i've seen make the casing directly into jars).
Maybe you have to wait the complete colonization of the rye ?
What are the pro and cons of your casing method?

High Rhizome Fractel (haven't I seen you on the Shroomery?)

First off al it is not my tek but the tek I used...

I sterilize everything except the spores. Rye and water is sterilzed as the casing is. The plastic casing containers I make sterile with alcohol (spiritus).

The rye has to be colonised completely before you case it!!!

Pro's of casing seems to be a higher yield, quite easy to get humidity right witout using expensive humidity equipment. The casing protects the mycelium against dry out and relazes moist in the air which is needed for a good cultivation. The casing way look more like the way nature does it and is more fun to see.
Con: making and adding the casing can cause contamination but I have not encountered it. I don not no for sure but cakes cannot produce such big shrooms, the cake wil simply roll over.

After the 3rd flush my casing was looking shit and was looking life-less for a week.

Then I flipped it around, the casing layer down and the rye up.
