My first Time growing Shrooms!

High All,

Today I started my first time growing shrooms. The jars are cooling down as I am writting. I started with the psi. cub. ordered at Azarius.

I wanna keep you all informed how it is going and I am using this board for it

So today I mixed the Rye and water and placed the jars in the pressure cooker for 1 hour. Within 1 hour I will inoculate the jars and put them away.

And wait untul the fungy starts growing.......

I wish you good luck, I once tried to grow mushrooms but I ended up with jars in all sort of colors. But no fungi inside

Today I discovered that the temp in which my jars are standing was to cold. Only 19 degrees C.

So I put them on a heat pad suited for cacti seeding. Now temp is 25 degrees. But no fungi in sight.

it takes a while to see the first mycelium, I think it takes at least a week.
I'm inoculating my jars today. And also have to do something about the temperature.

Yesterday I inoculated a small jar containing rye. I also hope to make a small cake. I looks like fun to see the fruiting from a non cased cake...

Today the 5th, i discovered a big bulb of mycelium in my inoculated jars. They were inoculated on the 30th Januari.

I am happy!!

To answer your question i am also on the forum off the Shroomey. Just reading all I can read, but the more info makes the job more difficult as it seems.

I hope to harvest between 40 and 50 grams (drie weight)

Today I shaked the jars well to spread the mycelium so colonisation will speed up.

That's a lot... I really should try this once as well.

I know however I really suck at gardening...
even cactii don't survive here

How is it possible green stuff dies in your hands? And cacti? Maybe 1 will get killed but you must explain this to me!

And about the shrooms it is much easier than I ever thought.

i just forget to water them.

uhm... for a very. very long time that is

I could get an automatic watering system, but I'm bound to forget to switch it on. Or with mushrooms I'd forget to shake to distribute the mycelium in the jars... or whatever, I'll forget it

It's not like my memory is wasted or I neglect everything. But when it comes to plants, I'm bound to screw up somehow. And yah, I managed to get brown, shrimpled cacti...

About the cacti, it happens to me also (sometimes).

About the shrooms, without shacking there is still no problem!!!

About memory, it is more about focussing I think!
