Amazing collection. I love loph's. Seriously, can't get enough of them, and they are addicting as hell to collect. BTW, some of those loph's seriously look old, so I got to ask, do you change your water patterns between the old and the new. Also, what nutes do you use? Thanks.

I only have them for a few weeks so i cant say much about the water patterns. Mostly i just give water when soil is completly dry and they turn a bit soft. Once a year i change the soil and thats the only thing i give them exept water. So no "nutes" added. Although i am thinking about it because i still have some bottle left. This bottle is just cacti feeding you can buy in any gardenshop but i havnt used it still so far they grow wild.

If you look closly to the biggest cacti in the green pot you can see a pup larger than a cm that has grown within a few months :) very fast if you ask me, normal a cm or what a year is what i get but this pup is really exitded bout life i guess

Hey, if you do use nutes, make sure to at least cut the dosage in half, because loph's really don't need much (but have the nutes include calcium)

Oh and statistically, I got to say, it's more likely a caesposita than a cristata. Then again, you just be super lucky.

Brilliant! May mankind invest their spare time in the sacred stones' cultivation, to keep them aloft. 8)

Nice signature by the way, Blake is the last one who expelled frank imagination. The world lacks these characters today.

This cactus was put in a plastic bag for several weeks and forgotten (at the office).
Two days ago I took it home, and to my surprise the cactus survived, looking exceptionally virile.

I have grown +/-20 baby cacti from seeds that i've grown my own and they all have turned brown exept one! I've given them water today since it looked like they needed that. Does any one know what to do? Someone on an other forum said they where burned because they where red before so i dontknow...

Hi,
sorry to hear about your cacti, and they being brown is not good. What you were told on the other forum is right, your cacti are sumburnt. place them in a shady spot and they should start recovering. The recovery might take long though, for small cacti over a year or more. Easy on the watering because they are already damaged. The best of luck to you and your cacti :)

Pretty much answered already, but yeah brown cactus = too much sun. The thing is that there is a definite misconception that cacti cannot get too much sun. In reality they can sunburn, and seedlings especially don't really need that much at all. What helps a lot is to use a tupperware container with plastic wrap over it. When you see the little green spots emerging slowly start poking holes in the plastic, which acts as a humidifier. Once the little guys are out, you can put the container in front of the window, but should use a sun guard - maybe 40% or so that they don't have to go brown. I'll post some picks of my seedlings when I get a chance, but for now, the most basic growers guide I used can be found here (scroll to grow from seed):
