Legal questions about shrooms

I am searching for some advice or experience. My friend was cultivating shrooms in his basement. the cops did a search warrant (just like cops) smashed his door in and everything. his lawyer told him they the the probable cause from his trash?? how is that possible and what should be sure not to throw away??? anyone had any experience in this???

well, anything that is typical used in large amounts for mushroom cultivation, you shouldn't throw away (in your own bin), the soil for example?

but i think it would be more logical if someone talked to someone who shouldn't know about it and that person talked to the cops. talking is a very big habit.

Not sure what the legal situation is.
As I understand there's no requirement for searching your trash.
But how did they come up with the idea?
Definitely someone tipped them off.

Without inciting anyone to break the law, I'd offer two things to keep in mind:
1) Never ever talk to anyone. Not a single soul. Ever.
2) When you discard something make sure the dump location is not connected with you in any way.

Like they said during the war "loose tongues sink ships"

Though that's not helpful to you (your friend?) anymore.

My advice from now on is to be on the level with your lawyer and not give anything to the cops that could possibly incriminate you (your friend?) more. And think like someone with a severe attack of paranoia would.
The cops and the law are definitely out to get you, as bad as they possibly can.
