The era of rationalism has ended. The golden age where science was the shaman in the public eye, tied into corporate research, "Look what they've gone and done now!" and the era of "Look, we landed on the moon!" are history.
This is the era of emotionalism and the era of the ego. Marketing targets our self-esteem, our sexuality, etc etc.
Gone are the days where the forerunners, the shamans of psychedelics were rationalists, who reasoned, but still shared their imaginative insights with us, tempered with a healthy dose of skepticism. And more importantly the public does not like what these figures have to say anyway.
The public is not interested in rational discussion regarding the "responsible use" of psychedelcs. The war on drugs is irrational, it's own worst enemy, and frequently is based on fearmongering and misinformation. If it is to ever end in some way, it will have to be won by means that do not always appear to be rational.
