Is Salvia what everyone say that IT is!?

Like you my first try of Salvia wasn't spectacular. It was some dried leaves a neighbor gave me and after smoking a tobacco pipe full I only had mild hallucinations. I discovered that it was very poor leaf.

After ordering some leaf and some 5x I tried the 5x in a water pipe. I've been meaning to post about this but it's been hard to put the experience into words. The first thing I felt was a throbbing physical sensation like being pelted with tiny stones all over.

Next was flattening of reality. It was as if the world I know was stretched out and I was on the other side of the sheet. I could even press on the sheet with my hands. In fact I found myself doing just that during the "come down". I was sitting on the side of the bed with my hands in the air waving them around like I was pressing against something. After smoking some more I could see beyond the sheet into someplace else. The best impression was that it was a very bright place. Clean and sunny but one part of me still resided in the here and now. I had a guilty feeling from this like someone on the other side would come by and see me half in and half out of this world and say, "Ewww. Look what you stepped in".

What I didn't like was the speed and (violence?) of the transition and how fast you return to reality. I used part of my 1oz leaf to make a crude extract. I'm going to try that in the future. Smoking just doesn't give me time enough to fully comprehend what I'm seeing.

The way you ingest it is important. Like someone noted above, making tea just wastes leaf. I made the crude extract by rubbing the leaf into a fine powder (just like you would cooking sage) and pouring some 195 proof Everclear alcohol in. Put it into a beaker and just cover the leaf with the alcohol. Let it stand a couple days shaking it up a time or two a day. Next strain it with a tea strainer or a coffee filter into a flat pan and let that sit until it's dry. Scrape the gummy residue up and chew that. I only tried a small amount so far but I got a decent buzzing sensation. I'll post more when I try a larger dose.

P.S. The stuff tastes horrible.

I have also forgot that I have smoked Salvia recently in voyage! When trip was hitting me hard I wasn't aware of anything! Especially not aware how I have become that scene-experience-reality! That wasn't big matter in voyage or something worth of attentions!

Next time I will smoke again half of gram 10X extract! Less is useless! Building some kind of weed reverse tolerance and taking that theory as rule isn't my play or behavior!

Next: Salvia trip effect reminds me to glue sniffing FILMS! I call glue trip FILM (just as everyone here in Croatia-Zagreb) Similarity is so equal between Salvia and Film, even my friend tell me that I looked like Filming-tripping guy! And he has first time look at someone smoking Salvia!
So explain to me that my and his perception is unreal or fake!, bout equal effects of dilutants and Salvia! Only Salvia produce fast and strong effects, much faster, "safer", economic, discrete and some other things more.

I find Salvia amusing, fun drug but also teaching one with strange properties. But not like Peyote, Ayahuasca, Amanita, Shrooms, Yopo, Cohoba, Witch brew, and some other rare "drugs". Above list is "magic and shamanic one" Salvia was used in time when witch-doctors and shamans were in absence of mushrooms, dry times, times when shrooms doesn't grow. Only as helping agent! Salvia wasn't taken never as "true magical" or "spirit calling" plant! Only as helper and shrinker of holes between mushrooms growing seasons.

I think that is normal with Salvia. You are suddenly somewhere else, but it feels like you have been there forever. You don't remember smoking or anything else.

I have only once had a really strong experience from smoked Salvia 5x (smoked in a bong). This one really brought me into a strange universe of gears and geometric objects. I had to move the objects away because everything was jammed with them. Needless to say I threw the bong on the carpet while "moving away objects" ;) (I also like being alone when tripping/trying new stuff)

I've had a similar experience once from chewed salvia leaves. It was a little longer experience, but it was very similar, I was walking through a universe jammed with gears and wheels. And it felt so horribly boring. Sounds weird, but that was the feeling that took over on the chewed salvia experience. Pure boredom in a universe of giant gears and wheels. Maybe this was more of a message to me than I felt at the time...

I find Salvia as something without proper value! Maybe cause I smoked twice normal and once half of gram 10X extract. But Salvia isn't the way of knowledge, learning, evolution! Salvia reminds me to Nagual from Castaneda book (Stories bout Power or something like that, fourth book).
Wild entrance in to the void of unexplainable meanings but also acceptable as truth! Only part which I do not like is 80% chance of being thrown into hellish or meaningless existences which are very stress involving and traumatic form me and I presume for bunch of other people!

Dried leaves are more for making quids with. If you intend to really trip then you need to purchase salvia leaves extract. 20X for a first time is good, but can also be pretty intense. Use a torch lighter and make sure to light the salvia the entire time you hit it. Cherrying salvia isn't efficiant because the chemical in Salvia (A Salvinorum) requires a hotter temperature than what a bic lighter produces. Happy tripping!
