Hi everyone!

I'm currently living in the jungle near Iquitos, Peru to do a dieta. I'm having a really hard time feeling the ayahuasca though and I'd like to know if anyone has advice? I've been follow the strict dieta, meditating a lot and even taking a double dose, but it has no effects... Could stress be a factor? Could having experience with many other psychoactive plants decrease my sensitivity? I'm only here for another 3 weeks, so I'd like to get the best out of my dieta. Any advice will be much appreciated! Thanks

Phi.

Hi,

I have done a dieta 3 times in the jungle near Iquitos, the only thing I can advice you is; stop having (these) expectations!!
Mother Ayahuasca doesn't respond to expectations or demands.
Go into the ceremony completely empty and just let the Mother do her work, she knows what's best and you never get more than you can handle.
And if you think nothing happens, you're wrong, it always works, even if you don't have a direct experience.
Be patient and stop thinking something has to happen before your 3 weeks are gone.
Have a good time, I'm going back there in March, can't wait!!!
And if nothing happened, I'm organizing weekend ceremonies in Holland in April, you're welcome!!

Paz y luz,
Ayah

Thanks for the reply!

It was my 3rd ceremony and I guess I started to panic a bit because I was told it wasn't normal to still not feel anything, especially since everybody else said the medicine was very strong. Percy said I had a lot of strong emotions blocking me from feeling anything, which makes sense to me. I am feeling the benefits now, I am relieved! Yay!

Hi Joey,

Happy to hear you're feeling the benefits!!
Hope you have some great "travels" before you leave the jungle.
And don't think anymore about what's normal and the experiences other people have.
Normal is in the eye of the beholder, just like beauty.
And other people's experiences are other people's experiences.
That has nothing to do with you.
Have fun in the jungle!!

Ayah
