my fiancee has just recently become immune, yes i said IMMUNE, to the effects of marijuana. regardless of quality and quantity. she has not been smoking weed for very long, about 10 months or so now, and no more than about 2grams at a time at best.

i can not figure any issues or medical confliction to cause this.... can anyone help?

What the problem with this ? Not smoking weed certainly won't harm her, and if she want a psychedelic experience there's ton of others possibilities.

Maybe the cannabinoid-receptors in her brain suddenly got blocked because she's getting married. 8)

"Immune to the effects" sounds pretty weird to me, btw.

As I don't want to be all negative about it, so here's my advice: try to make a good spacecake and eat it. It takes a while for it to start, but the effect is certainly very deep. Another option would be vaporizing it. It is easier on the lungs and therefore easier to absorb. Maybe she just doesn't recognize the effects anymore.

What? Sounds like a friend of mine, he smokes 2,5 gram bags and also thinks he has become immune.
Just don't smoke for a while and try it again after a month

^ Or stop thinking you're immune and it doesn't have effect on you. The mind creates reality: if she thinks that MJ doesn't work, it probably won't (although to an outsider it might seem that it does).

Does she have a physical reaction (look into the eyes!)?

Stop for a period of time. Let's say for at least a couple of weeks.
And don't smoke it to often.
That will solve the "problem".

just thinks stoned is normal. remember it takes an age to leave the system. going strait will probably be wierd at first

Absolutely true. I can say that...

I`ve been smoking daily for a while now and i had this same feeling lately. What i realised was that i was always in the same places\doing the same things... so i had very little stimulant from my enviroment.

Now i realise this, i`m "fine" again :)
So my advice is to go do something new.

But like said before, stop smoking for a week should definantly help to.

Second that. Besides taking a break, varying your setting and what you do while you toke will really enhance the experience. Some of the most intense and euphoric sessions I've had smoking weed have been when I got out of the house and was doing something like going to a concert, jamming music.. just exploring my senses and the world in general.

I've had times at wich I thought was pretty immune as well :)
I smoked a lot of weed back then, was stoned pretty much all day for a long time.
It became normal, it felt stranger to be sober (wich I actually never was)..
Now I only very seldomly smoke cannabis, sometimes months in between.
I have gotten extremely sensitive now, so sensitive that after a few tokes I'll be pretty damn stoned/high and my brain will be shaken for the day after quite a bit as well
But then again I feel like weed here is still getting stronger and my friends have the habit of buying high thc weed.. super white mystery, amnesia.. too much for me now :?
Try quitting a few days and then roll a fat pure blunt or make a tulip in a bong or sth is my advice
Or maybe you should try smoking a different kind of weed/hasj, possibly with a higher THC percentage
If you've done both of these and still don't feel anything I say you can consider immunity though I think of it as highly unlikely..
But suppose you are immune, as mentioned already theres lots of other nice highs.. try kratom or sth :P

There are people who don't feel a thing. But this is a very small percentage of people and their receptors don't work as they're supposed to.
But if it worked before, then it might be for some other reason.

A lot of drugs and medications can have an effect. The receptors the canabinoids work on are used by many substances.
I knew women who had a different reaction while talking the pill. Hormones can have a big effect too.

I would check what changed lately. Medicine? Illness? Psychic changes? Change in diet (can change the metabolism)? and so on...

"I knew women who had a different reaction while talking the pill. Hormones can have a big effect too. "

????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people smoke so much that they get used to it and dont realise that they are stoned . Some people are to stoned to realise that they are stoned . When they stop they realise it.........

????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that a question?

Hormones trigger a lot of perceptive and emotional reactions. The anti-baby-pill works with hormones. Thus it may change the reaction to cannabinoids.

If the TS's fiance started the baby-pill recently or stopped it, it might be a cause to the changes perceived. Question answered?

Mood changes from taking the pill are very rare nowadays , acording to doctors . Reported effects from taking the pill were common 30 - 40 years ago . But that was because of the drug used and the quantity . Its diferent drugs in different quantitys today . And they work in a different way . It can also / more likly be the time of month .

I am not refering to "simple" mood changes, althought that too has an effect. I am talking of a shift in the hormonal household which has an effect on how other substances work in our body. While it may be true, that modern anti-baby-pills are more balanced to prevent mood changes, the effect it may have on other parts of our mind & body is still to consider.

Since there are so many reasons why the fiance of the TS feels immune, this is just another idea one might look at...

It would be a good idea for the TS and his fiance to look at the things that changed in the fiances life since she believes to be immune. And one (or more) of those parameters may be the cause. The idea with the ABP is just an example...

" I am talking of a shift in the hormonal household which has an effect on how other substances work in our body. "

Thats exactly what i mean , thanks for agreeing with me . The natural hormonal chamges that a woman goes through over a month are much bigger than the ones caused by the pill .
