This week I got three new cuttings from Azarius. The ones I had before, have died because of my ignorance.

I would love to hear from people who got their cuttings from Azarius, how you take care of them. How long did you leave the glass on them? How long did it take before they could survive in normal living room conditions? Did you use any antifungal product on the roots?

Lots of questions ;)

Thanks
HC

i see i need to update the pics again, will do so today!

im not sure how long i left the glass on there.. and i use some fertilizer for cannabis, i spray it on the leaves. i didnt use any root-stim

:) thanks

ive added some pictures from 2-3 days ago

My experience ->
My salvia plant is now almost 4 months old.

Difficult phase -> approx the first 4-6 weeks.
After that period "she" got far more robost, grew rapidly and has been far less picky about humity.

Recently already survived not being watered for two weeks (vacation).
During the first weeks "she" almost died when I tried to reduce humity (taking off glas) for one hour(!!!!!!!!) only.

I'm using standard fertilizier once per month.
(no idea if necassairy or not, the only thing that is for sure is that they dont surive if they dont get almost 100% humity within the first weeks)

Btw: when they are getting huge -> decent but nice salvia smell in the room :)

On more thing: the second time when she almost died -> broke down under their own weight approx second month.
Needed some support/stick.

Regarding pests/antifungal: Nope.
But recently my salvia plant got plagued by a whitefly species, probably Trialeurodes vaporariorum.
Got rid of it by spraying the leaves with "tabacco tea".

Thanks again..

They seem to do much better now than the previous ones. I also bought a humidity meter so that should help.

Fingers crossed ;)

Hi there !

Recently bought salvia cuttings too. Also from Azarius.
I was really scared 'cos my parcel took more than a week to be delivered; and with the "fantastic" weather we got allover Europe...
I wondered if my cuttings could survive after a whole week in such dark & cold confinement.

lucky me : they did !!
Once again, Azarius rules !!

ps : Lady Salvia rules it too, of course ;-)

Well, in the early start they were very gentle to humid, so you have to use some kind of glass environment to keep the humid high (almost killed one of my plants by removing the glass for 16 hours). It's also important not to add too much fertilizers, you will know when you have over-added them when the leaves are contorted and way too green.

yeah, yeah, yeah..... but what good is all this subtlety if, after all that you just let the CATS get at them?!?!

:-o

;)) ...hehe

PS: *avoids pointing any fingers but sends a semi-serious warning glance in the direction of Nederlandz!

I'm from the netherlands, and although not (yet) a salvia grower, I felt curious about the ''semi-serious warning glance in the direction of Nederlandz!''.

so what exactly did you mean by CATS?
