Finally next week I will have a chance to do ayahuasca!
I think I'm gonna order a pack from azarius.net
I will be doing it alone in the comfort of my own home.
Any advice? Tips?
I heard you will puke before the trip begins.
Can I smoke some weed to prevent this?
Or will this affect my trip too much? (actually I want the full experience not influenced by other psychoactives)
Thx in advance for asnwers!

The puking and diarrhea are believed to be a sign of cleaning of the body, before the cleaning of the spirit happens. Have fun! :)

The purging is a vital part of a traditional ceremony, as far as I know. Maybe you could brew a little bit of cannabis in the drink? I wouldn't think Marijuana to have much effect unless you are a very light smoker, but again, I've never even touched DMT ;)

Well, before my ceremony I didn't eat for 2 days and ate light the week before and didn't really have to go kaka.
But I did notice how the Ayahuasca goes to the place where it is taken up into the bloodstream and then thrown back out of the body, you just have to try and wait as long as possible with puking untill you really feel it taking effect.

Last time I did ayahuasca I didn't prepare the brew properly and I had to vomit. I don't like vomiting, despite the purging belief. Cannabis can help (did help me), but I think there's also a way to prepare the Mimosa and Peganum in a way that you don't have to vomit. Here are some pics from a couple of weeks ago. I should have allowed the solid particles in the brew to settle to the bottom before drinking it. If you make Mimosa tea, put it in a glass bottle and leave it in the fridge for one or two days. You'll see lots of bark settling down. You don't need that bark, you need the DMT which is in the liquid. The bark is just going to irritate your stomach.

It has to do with stomach tolerance, trust me.

The Western food is in fact posioning our natural meschanism to eat food directly out of the nature.

I noticed this with eating raw San pedro, last time I puked because I underestimated the food restrictions which I always took the day before the experience (having a speed metabolism). Consumed diary right before the ingestion.

I always make sure I'm getting a minimum of salt, no diary, fish or meat, green appels the days before, limited carbohydrates, enough iron.

Coffee can be used to detox your stomach in combination with drinking water. But it can speed up your intensity of the experience too, with nervousness and less control. Though this varies a lot for everyone.

A Vitamine B12 injection is a very good method to rise resistance for pretty much everrything, especially absorption through the stomach.

Do the ingestion on an empty stomach (best right after you woke up) but not on starving mode. Lack of energy and tripping is a serious unpleasant experience.

im going to try aya soon.....im young though..

I never done aya on myself at home. It's easy to buy a aya pack and do it at home, but I think ceremonial use is the best way to take ayahuasca. I have only done three ceremonies and I want to do some more this year.

Like I said before, don't try to prevent puking. Puking is not a bad thing, it's part of the cleansing of the body and spirit.

The first cup of aya didn't make me vomit or trip. The second cup made me vomit, but I still didn't trip. What made me trip at my first aya ceremony was yopo snuff.
My second and third aya ceremony I was puking and tripping very fast.

I noticed ayahuasca has very different effects on different people. Some people don't trip the first time they take it. Others trip straight away. Some people puke in a calm way, other's puke violent with a lot of noise.

I am happy to use mushrooms at home and ayahuasca ceremonially.
Maybe I will try ayahuasca at home one day.

re heartcores "soap like substances"
i lifted this from Eroid. probably not very relevant but it refers to saponins

Mimosa tenuifolia stem bark possesses significant in vitro nonspecific growth inhibition of all fungi and gram negative and gram positive bacteria it was tested against. It also suppressed the growth of yeasts but was the least effective against Candida albicans. The activity was most pronounced in the tannin-rich ethyl acetate extracts.

The total alkaloid fraction from the trunk bark, most concentrated in the butanolic extract, was found (in vitro) to inhibit the peristaltic reflex in isolated guinea-pig ileum; and produced contractions of gastric and uterine strips taken from rats and guinea-pigs.

There were saponins present in both butanolic and methanolic extracts that were capable of hemolysis.

diversity of bioactive compounds" was found to be present in the stembark.

Conflicting results in the modification of W138 and KB cells' growth rates in vitro.

All pharmacological evaluations, other than Gonçalves de Lima, looked only at the stem-bark.

Thx all for personal experiences and advice! :D I really want to do this right.
I have a few more questions:
- What plants should I use? B.Caapi and Mimosa H.?
- How much should i order? Providing that I'm not very sensitive to it (wich i heard some people are), a little bit extra maybe? Plz include in your answer if you are talking about whol, shredded or powdered rootbark/vine.
- How should I make the brew and how long will it take me?
I know these answers can quite easily be found on the internet, though I prefer answers from my psychonaut brothers who I have come to trust and admire and who have experience 8)

From experience, I say go with peganum harmala and mimosa. At least you are sure your brew will work.

You can also go for caapi with mimosa. I tried that a few times, bought it from different places, never was able to get it working (not even after 14 hours of cooking). Peganum tea can be made within 15 minutes. Mimosa tea also if you don't care to drink a load of tiny particles (otherwise use Caduceus advice about having it decant in the fridge);

Hearthcore it's a shame you don't know the name of this shaman you write about. I would like to know more about this.

Do you guys think cleansing is a myth?

Tribes around the world use different plants to induce vomiting. In Africa they use coffee, in South America they use ayahuasca and oje (Ficus Insipida)
I think western culture views vomiting as something negative. That's why most westerners have troubles with it.

I never felt sick after drinking ayahuasca. I was vomiting yes, but I never felt sick or nauseous.

Do you guys think cleansing is a myth?
I do. I have nothing against vomiting, I used to practice an ayurvedic purging technique, involving salt water, on a daily basis. It was pleasant and effective. But I no not see the usefulness in:

- vomiting right before or during a trip
- getting plant fiber in your nose
- having a trip with an irritated throat/nose

So if I wanted to purge for health reasons, I would rather take the Caapi (which also kills parasites) without the Psychotria viridis.

Glory to the mushroom!!

Caduceus you don't see the usefulness. You say that if you want to purge for health reason would rather take just caapi.
But what about the energetic level? You talk about health as if it only concerns the body.
Don't you think ayahuasca is a medicine for both the body and the soul?

Ayahuasca makes you vomit. For the Amazon people this is a good thing.
Caapi may kill the parasites, but ayahuasca is also active on a energetic level.
It kills the psychological/energetic parasites (or something like this)

Glory to the mushroom indeed. I love the mushroom.
But I realize ayahuasca is different from the mushroom.
I believe in purging. But I am open to information that proves it a myth.
For me the ayahuasca path is about transforming energy.
I have felt the usefulness of purging on ayahuasca, both on the physical and the energetic level.

So what makes you think it's useless?
( this is not to start a debate, I am just curious)

im not arguing with the above post, but

what about using crystal dmt instead of mimosa bark for your aya?
if its saponins or some other "impurity" that causes vomiting, this would remove them from the equation.
dosing would be more controlable.

i think purging is probably more important if you live in the amazon basin and have a gut full of worms

I hate vomiting.

Except on ayahuasca.

It is the most natural and beautiful thing (if you're already tripping).

Both times I did ayahuasca I vomited quite late, one time at the end and the other time somewhere in the middle. Both times it was wonderful.

It can be psychologically very relieving and cleansing. I felt clean in my body as well, even though this might have to do with the trip and not the purging.

I wouldn't smoke mj on the come up. In Santo Daime churches they smoke marijuana (PURE!) after about 2 or 3 hours, but this isn't a universal principle by far.

In the documentary on Maria Sabina (that I posted in the video section)
the famous mushroom curendara tells about her practice.
The mushroom makes the patients vomit the sickness out, she tells us.
If the patient can not vomit I vomit for them.
(see the docu)

So even with the traditional mushroom practice there is a place for purging.

ayahuasca. :D

what if you dont have any "sickness" in you?
or if you have other methods for healing your sickness?
or if you want to keep your sickness?

Why would someone want to keep his sickness?

The healing powers of ayahuasca are strongest in a ceremonial setting. If you're not sick. If you have other ways of curing yourself, you could take ayahuasca at home or not take aya it at all.
However I think it's good to take ayahuasca in a ceremonial setting. I think it's good to vomit and get rid of the toxics in the body. Even if you're not sick.
It certainly feels good anyway.
Try it when you get the change.

If you don't have sickness in you whatsoever. You are lucky and very healthy. :)
