Drinking alcohol and taking Amitriptyline

Okay, im not sure if this is the right place for this to be?

But my Dr. just prescribed me Amitriptyline for chronic head aches.
It says I cant take alcohol with it, and also I have to take it every day.

And both those things are not universally possible.

So does anyone have any idea what will happen, what is Amitriptyline anyways?? does it work, can I drink on it and be alright or will I pass out?

Also if any of you guys know something better to treat head aches, not IB profane or advil and shit. Some shit that actually works!
