Does barley work?

I've grown mycelium successfully several times on rye but got barley this time due to availability. I did a search on it and it would seem barley has a natural antifungal in it...I could be wrong. Does anyone have experience using barley?

Barley will work fine as a substitute for rye.

you should make beer out of the barley after wards.
