How to calm yourself during an anxiety attack? I don't think my anxiety is that bad.If I calm myself a little bit,I turn out fine. When I have an anxiety attack,I get extremely nervous with a racing heart. How do I calm myself?

Hi,

As the chamanic way, you could sing longtime with sweet sound and positive instinctive lyrics that you improve.
You take big and slow breath breath, you breath slowly...during 15 min. That works.

I invite you to read this :

I personnaly think that mushrooms are not a game, we should respect them as if they were human. If you have anxiety or if you swallow it is a sign, anxiety could be something that your mind try to integrate and vomit is a kind of purification...but not pleasant
Sometimes we need to integrate the last experience before beginning a new one, and it sometimes take lot of time.

I wish you a nice day !

(Sorry my English is so bad, I m from France)

do something to change your mindset.
This can either be something like taking a shower, light some insence stick, put on some relaxing /happy music, or go outside for a little walk, play with your pet if you have one, drink a beer or two,... there is always something to do that can help you to distract u from any "bad thoughts".
and most important; calm down, relax, and control ur breathing. If u breathe slow, u will relax automatically.. On the other hand, if u're hyperventilating you're getting more nervous without a doubt

pets are the way to go for me :) almost cuddled my cat to dead few years ago when i had a difficult episode on LSD

Good advice Shamanita. I've found with sober anxiety the best thing to do is find something to change my mindset. For some reason TV, or certain shows, can usually do a lot to pull me out of anxiety - oddly enough Daniel Tosh helped me out in the later part of my shroom trip. When I started feeling anxious in that instance was when the atmosphere shifted from being more upbeat to more "go to bed" :P. That's when I started wishing I wasn't high anymore, and rather than seeking something to get me out of that mindset, I just sort of curled up in my shell and wished it would go away, hence I felt like shit for a while. I think the key is just not to let it shut you down; realize that it's not as real as it feels at the time, and then find whatever you can around to fight it.

It wasn't until a few months ago that I really found the real lesson that that trip held for me, even though it happened about a year ago. Certain circumstances can hold you down, make you feel defeated, but if you let them you'll miss all the good that exists alongside, you'll miss opportunities. Basically, don't ever let yourself feel defeated by your circumstances.

:? really? for me it's quite the opposite. when i am tripping hard i want everybody to leave me alone, i want all of the stimuli to go away, and basically wish to be in the most neutral environment possible. sure, a tv will distract someone, but it sure isn't going to help them with the fact that that they just discovered: that they are not content being alone with themselves...

ah, i noticed something. you mean after you're done tripping, but still are not back to baseline (ie it's late, but the leftover energy won't let you sleep yet)?

this was an issue for me once as well. this is why i plan my trip to take place earlier in the day now so that by the time it wears off, im completely worn out and sleep is not a problem. :) middle of the afternoon is good. sunsets are stunning, and nighttime visuals are amazing as well. :D

As u told that sometimes we have self control on it but still sometimes we just can't cope with it and then we will have to take some medicine for get rid of this . if u will not take any medicine for it then it will keep hurting u and i dont think so that it's a good option . Thanks
