So I plan on venturing to different realms this weekend, and am trying to come up with a few lists with the must have's/must do's. What I'm looking for is a list of great trip music, and a lot of great things to do or watch during a trip (mostly these). Like from your past experiences, what are some very common objects or activities that seem spectacular in the psychedelic realm? I know it's a vague question with a lot of possible answers, but I hope you can understand what I'm looking for. This is what I have so far.

Music
Aphex Twin
DJ Shadow
Virginian Winter (thanks to Erothyme)
Pink Floyde
Thievery Corporation
Radiohead
Sublime (always use it to start everything off mellow)
Massive Attack
Led Zeppelin
Jimi Hendrix
Fleet Foxes
Ocelot
Ratatat

Things to have/do
The new Alice in Wonderland (I have a cam version that is pretty good)
The old Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Checkerboard quilt (These kind of things, just random stuff around your house that is supper trippy)
X-mas lights
Giant mirror on my wall

This is going to be my first time alone, and I am a little nervous but I think it is more anticipation then anything. I have always found myself going into a backroom for a bit during group experiences because it always made everything way more psychedelic for me. There is no reference point for sanity from your friends when you're alone, because you can't see how hard they are tripping. It's just you, and your mind.

So thanks for all suggestions, and I will add them to my list as people post them. Hope this was the right section, cuz I wasn't too sure where to put this. Until then "Let the bud burn long, the shrooms grow high, and the blotters taste like candy"

Close your eyes and listen to this at peak...

Of course, be under the covers with head phones on... The first video... if I were to be just high on weed and listen to that, let alone acid, I don't know how long it would take me to be able to speak again.

Beyond that, I don't like watching movies, I like to learn while tripping, ride a bike, go for a walk, go swimming, go crazy for a bit. That's what i enjoy.

have fun man, do what makes you feel comfortable.

Love the 2 that you posted, they just got bookmarked. And I agree with you about doing things while I trip, it's just that I am planning a night trip and I'm not sure if the weather is gonna stay nice all weekend. If it does I'll probably end up n my roof staring at the stars and moon, but I like options. And the bike ride does sound pretty good, cuz I have a park with trails right next to my house, maybe I'll start the trip a little earlier then planned...

its up to you, i know people like watching movies while tripping,

I just get pissed off, I tend to focus on the set of the movie, and the actors as people, rather than the actual movie itself... just not my deal.

Canoeing on mushrooms was amazing to me. I stared soooooo long at the ripples and the vortex's from the paddle. oh god was that a wonderful day :D

well, you already have good taste in music modernday, i was listening to the numbers song just a second ago by dj shadow haha. he's probably my favorite musician right now, if you have a good quality speaker, his music has so0oO0o much depth, god i love it! that zooming out video put me in a good headspace too, thanks ijc

i guess ill give you some songs by some of those guys if you haven't heard them already..

dj shadow:
basically the entire Endtroducing album, but especially,
building steam with a grain of salt
changeling
midnight in a perfect world
* mutual slump (it's a little loud on the drums, but mixed well with smooth mellow sounds, and a beautiful voice :D)
napalm brain/scatter brain
the number song
stem/longstem
what does your soul look like (very mellow and dreamy)
what does your sould look like (not the same track at all)

aphex twin:
wouldn't reccomend anything on the drukqs album, although it is pretty good.

-richard d. james album:
4
finger bib
to cure a weakling child
yellow calx
girl / boy
logl / rock witch (kinda cool, but doesn't go anywhere too emotional imo...)
Girl / Boy (L 18 Snore Rush Mix) <(that whole thing is track title, and it's kinda intense, be warned. it's still one of my favorite tracks though)
Girl / Boy (Redruth Mix) <(whole title)

random tracks by aphex:
flim
Hot Buttered Popcorn (techno mix)
popcorn (almost the same song)
maximum electronica
outside kickass violin solo
tunnel trance

the whole "chosen lords" album is really good too.

random, but check out "jah love" by bad brains. it's not like most of their songs, but it's awesome.

check out the new beastie boys album "the mix-up" it's all instrumental, and very vibey.

buy bonobo's album "animal magic" you wont want to just listen to it :D

kruder and dorfmeister:
the k&d sessions
also their independent work is good too (if you can find it)
peter kruder
richard dorfmeister

that should keep you going at least all night :D . if you have any more bands you like to share with us, i know i'd be more than happy to check em out. good luck tripping!

oh and as far as objects go, careful with a mirror, i've had a very intense experience with a mirror once while high. just high. be careful. prisms are fantastic, anything that refracts white light into colors, for example the back of a cd :D . magnifying glass and anything is amazing, but especially little bugs and stuff

adrianhaffner

Ya I love Shadow man, he does some sick stuff. Endtroducing is my favorite album by far. And thanks for some of those bands, I've youtube it and chem them out tonight. And ya, once I get all my music back I'll share some of my favorites with you guys

Mirrors are so much fun, and ya they can be intense but I love those trips. I can handle myself through some pretty heavy stuff so getting lost in a mirror is like my playground when I'm tripping haha. But I love the magnifier idea, that would do some pretty crazy things. And I found my old work gloves today, they have this really cool abstract pattern on the palms to help grip things. Looks like a fun things to play with when I'm soaring high

do you know these mirrors that magnify? would be a nice combination of the mirror and magnifier ;)

also concerning music, you might like the "dream selector" album by ocelot, happy psytrance without getting cheesy, perfect stuff.

another thing is the debut album by psykovsky, for absolute intensity

if you want something not so stressful, you might want to listen to anouar brahem,

also, get yourself some fresh fruits, oranges, above all :P and honey-melons :tonqe:

Wow... great night. Of every thing I planned on doing, little was actually done. I listened to Virginian Winter (thanks to Erothyme)for the 1st hour and stared at the mirror in my room, which kept me happy for a long time. After that, listened to Pink Floyd for about another hour staring at my ceiling that was turning green->blue->green and rippling. At a little after 3 am I took off my iPod and just jumped out my window to go lay in the grass and stare at the moon. The sounds of the Earth were incredible, I could have laid there for hours. I ended up back in my bed after 30 minutes and listened to Thievery Corporation till I passed out at 5:30am. Great night, but wasn't planned too well since I started later then planned (had to watch the Cav's/Boston game first at bw3's :P ). I plan on having another night like this very soon, probably next weekend at my friend's apartment who lives by these awesome woods. A little group therapy..

glad to hear all was well. yes, personally, i love the mirror, but i know some for some people, it can be too much, too fast. the warning goes for all. i suppose it just depends on the mindset going in to it. oh well. good times :D
