400W HPS for germination?

hey guys, i have been told that 2x T8 lights would work, but i already have a 400W HPS grow light that i was wondering about using for germinating my peruvian torch and san pedro cactus?

would this be too much light? i will have them growing in my garage with lots of space so it doesnt get too hot.

Its to much light .

Good for growth though .

I used to germinate and grow mine in my grow room .- The seeds in a small greenhouse with a news paper on top and the bigger ones around the edges of the garden . It worked fine for me .

alright, well i just started to germinate my mountain ball cactus. (found a mountain ball cactus on a walk. it had 4 peices of mature fruit, so i got over 100 seeds out of them!) but anyway, i should get the pedo and peruvian seeds in the mail within the next week. i shouldnt have the HPS going for another 2-3 weeks, so well see how they do.

i currently have some KK242 that are growing pretty fast, but they are now a much lighter green then when i got them.. so im thinking that they may be getting too much direct sunlight. (they get from sunrise till about 1pm of direct sunlight)

or maybe just too much water.. i dunno well find out i guess.

woo new sprouts! it took less time then i expected, and less care then i thought.. hehe.. i forgot to spray them a couple days out of the week, and they are starting to shoot up! (the mountain ball cactus) i should be getting the other seeds within the next couple days. ill post some pictures after they germinate.

lol. well i have a bunch of new seedlings.. and a bunch of MUSHROOMS that have shown up! last night 3 mushrooms grew, i picked them, but they still got their spores out. this morning there was 12 mushrooms.. doh!
