So, last night SWIM purchased an 8th of shrooms and consumed all of them at around 830PM. SWIM has taken mushrooms around 8 times (at least 5 of these in weekly succession between April and May) but has never eaten more than 2.3gs. Since this string of trips SWIM hasn't taken shrooms for at least a good month and a half, although within this period SWIM did consume around 200-300 mics of LSD once. Hence, SWIM expected this trip to be heavier than he was used to. It turns out SWIM only received a minor body high and VERY mild visual distortions. Upon contacting his dealer (not a frequent just someone he met very recently through a friend) SWIM was given an apology and was told, seeing as said dealer wanted to get rid of his supply anyhow, that he would give SWIM 4gs for $20 to compensate for SWIM's lame trip. He also gave SWIM a couple reasons as to why the shrooms may not have worked:

1. Taking them when your body is ready to go to sleep is much less effective because your digestive system doesn't work nearly as hard. -SWIM has done this around the same time with smaller doses and has had much better experiences

2. Eating dinner before taking them can lessen the effects. -SWIM has also done this almost every other time he has ingested mushrooms

3. They are kind of an old batch and psilocin content decreases with time.

SO, here are SWIM's questions:

1. Is there any validity to this dealers statements?

2. Is it possible that SWIM has actually built up that much of a tolerance to psilocin just from a few weeks use?

any responses are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unless you tripped on the LSD within the last few days, tolerance is not an option.

It could be the food in your stomach. Ideally you take them on an empty stomach.

Old batch could be of importance if the dealer doesn't keep them in the right environment (cool, airtight, watertight).

-the mushrooms should *snap*, not bend. this will indicate any potency issues, especially in older batches.

-take the mushrooms on an empty stomach from now on. food will definitely slow digestion of mushrooms. it has been called a sacrament by many for a reason. for best results, i believe it should be treated like one.

-quit eating them so often. psilocybin tolerance builds very quickly. if you take a large enough dose you really won't desire to eat them all the time...
