After reading a lot of inspirational posts of successful extractions of dmt, I decided to see what my area has to offer, as far as the native flora is concerned;

I am at or near 31 degrees latitude in the south part of the usa. There are many varieties of mimosa here...its my understanding that the ones I want have thorns....has anyone here verified that there's extractable mimosas growing in the deep south?

MOst of the ones I've seen dont have thorns, but not all of them, it seems there are a lot of subvarieties. I am going to do a field test soon...
any direct experience/knowledge in this area appreciated.

This reminds me of when I was trying to determine whether or not N.American acorus calamus contains beta-asarone or not.

Everyone was repeating what they'd heard...' only european calamus has appreciable amounts of beta-asarone, american varieties dont...'

horse-hockey!

I'm hearing the same conventional wisdom in respects to mimosa.
'only the ones with thorn have dmt in it, blah,blah...'

I'm close to mexico. There's no magic boundary which allows only a certain kind of mimosa in this country.
I've been told that the one's with thorns are the right ones. Interestingly, I found one with thorns, and it appears to be undergoing an evolution in this environment, as it has 'thornlets' which in a few more generations looks as if they will evolve away..

All the sub-varieties in my area tend to make me think that they all derive from the same plant, it's just highly adaptive, reminding me in this respect, of marijuana.

...and if the plant is producing this chemical in the roots, I doubt theres enough environmental pressure to make it stop, a few hundred miles north of the border.

The fact that it rode here in a birds ass should not affect these factors.

Anytime ther's this much silence in an area, I get curious. Whether this is due to a lack of info or a few people terrified of losing their source, I don't know, yet.

I am about to do some digging and field test this stuff, probably taking different representative samples. I'll post when this happens.

yes please post because I find it highly interesting, and I presume I am not the only one, but I know shit about it! so if you find out anything interesting please let us know :)
