You should pick someone you know well. A person with whom you feel good and comfortable. Make him read infos about salvia and how to be a good sitter, and everything will be ok

I don't see why you want someone you don't know at all to be with you during the experience

Do you have good arguments to use salvia? Not necesarily towards your friends, but towards yourself.

How come your friends wouldn't agree?

I've never used a sitter. I have never needed one. I have to wonder why you would want one.

A sitter would be most important in high dose experiments. Why would anyone try high dose experiments the first time?

Just set yourself up in a good, safe setting and start with low dose.

Any dose can be a high dose with Salvia. Some extracts only require 25 mgs of substance to get full loss of visual reality and other high dose effects. You should ALWAYS use a sitter when experimenting with Salvia Divinorum. There is to many incidents when the explorer gets up unconsciously, and starts to wander. This can be very dangerous. Please be a little more considerate when you make statements like that. No offence.

I was almost going to post what JJ did, as I personally haven't ever used a sitter either (i never do outrageous doses on my own as well and always start very, very small), but yeah, better to err on the side of safety. Especially as the poster has never tried it, has no idea what his/her personal threshold is.

Dr Syntax, whereabouts do you live? Are there clubs, or smartshops? There must be ways of meeting like-minded people.. Also in many parts of the world most people who use these substances will rarely speak about their usage openly, friends may surprise you sometimes.. When you enter the world of psychedelics with the honest and serious intention to explore, seek long enough and ye shall find... at least in my experience..

I know another forum where people get advice on how to go it alone. They do just fine.

You make it sound so unpredictable that there's just no telling what will happen to you if you try Salvia divinorum. I'm glad it's not like that.

A person can be educated on how to do things right. Salvia is only unpredictable for those who don't know what they are doing. Education can address this issue.

I trust myself more than I trust others. Most sitters make many mistakes.
