Is anyone familiar with this case?
In 2000 a LSD production facility based in a missile silo in Kansas was busted by the DEA. The LSD availability dropped by 95% according to the DEA. Two people - Apperson and Pickard - were sentenced to 30 years and life-time imprisonment respectively.
At the recent LSD conference in Basel Mark McCloud interrupted a lecture by John Halpern accusing him of working with the DEA in this case. John Halpern was working for MAPS as researcher on scientific studies with MDMA, psilocybin and LSD. And more striking even: Halpern was a good friend of Pickard.
