I'm looking to get into growing plants for consumption and figured I could start with something for insomnia since its a real need and I dont have to worry too much about people around me that dont understand the usefullness of psychoactives complaining even if they are legal.

Do you have any suggestions on what to start growing and where to get them? Wanna stay legal and would love if you already have a reliable source for seeds to pass it on. (I'm in New Jersey/USA if that affects location)

Any info would be much appreciated really but especially stuff on plants that are easy to grow since this will be my first one. (Well second, I killed a cactus from not watering it enough years ago lol.)

Be awesome if you already know that the plant has a lower then average 'hangover' effect as I have a sensativity to pretty much everything brain chemistry related and so if you feel a little groggy in the morning chances are I would feel it all day. :(

Thanks a million! Cant wait to grow something! :)

This post has been edited by me, Jamapricotica, for the simple reason that I am attempting to cleanup and/or improve my presence on this forum.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.

Valerian, humulus lupus, skullcap, passion flower could have some effects on sleep.
More sedative plants like Lactuca virosa, lotus flower could help relaxing/sleeping.
Relaxing effects of damiana maybe?

The only evening tea that works for me is valerian and catnip ( haven't tried humulus lupus and skullcap ).
I don't think they work for insomnia, but they can make you sleepy/tired/dreamy if you think you are a little to active to sleep.

From valerian you can be a little groggy in the morning and for some people it doesn't work because they dream to heavily.
And I don't think long term heavy use of valerian is very healthy.
