gas exchange in jars

I'm thinking about modifying my jars by cutting a 1*2cm hole in the lids and taping smething like micropore over them for better GE.

Currently I have 2 holes and cover the lid with tin foil, which seems to provide enough, but perhaps it would benefit from more.

Any suggestions?

I have 2 small innoculation holes and one about the size of my pinky in the centera, all covered in foil and I have excellent growth.
