high there

There's living an ant colony in one of my weed pots.

What to do with it?

High!
You should kindly ask them to move there colony elsewhere, to somewhere where ants can live in peace.
Sorry kinda high right now.

Are they doing any damage? If not I'd personaly let them be. What if you try to remove it and kill youre nice tasting weed whit some anti-ant-thingy. That would suck.

don't know if they're damaging my plant...
I guess not (or at least not yet). But i wonder if they could damage it?

i would never use insecticide, especially not outside..

But i was thinking, maybe drowning them by placing the pot in a big bath filled with water

another (and possibly most logical :p) option is to simply plant my dear maryjane in another pot,
but that's giving up on it and i don' want those ants to tell me what to do
i will win this battle :p

get an anteater.

Get some honey and put it in a small pot with high side's, Ants love sweet things and wont be able to climb out once they fall in. A sickly death

 good idea but i guess it will bring more damage then some ants

this could be an idea, but some ants and the queen never leave the nest so there will always be a small group remaining

Mr. Smith a dit:
they wont harm your weed. they may however start farming aphids, which will harm your weed

i can maybe start farming ladybugs to solve that problem :p

mm, afterall i think i'm just gonna raise the white flag and put my plant in another pot :p that would be the easiest solution
hopefully they won't colonize that one too though.

Slam the palm of your hand to your forehead.

ho man those stupid antfucks!!!!

so, this morning i put my plant in another pot. I made sure not a single ant was left in the soil...

Now, only 4 fucking hours later, i checked my plant and guess what?! Indeed, those fuckers are housing in my pot again...
I'm sorry, mother earth, but i'm going to use fucking insecticide for those freaks..I see no other option... they really drive me nutzzzz.

fucking antz, dieeee i tell u dieeeee!!!!!

Over here there are ant killers that are ... like a small, round box the ants are attracted to and....well they die in there. This doesn't harm your plant...

perhaps you could persuade them to submit themselves to 'work camps'.

Looks like you have as bad of an irrational fear/hate of ants as I do.

My first suggestion is that whatever you do, DO NOT spray an insecticide on your plant. Either do something else, or harvest your plant first. Spraying an insecticide on your plant (or the soil around it) could KILL YOU when you smoke it.

That said there are somethings you could use that won't harm you, but will harm the ants. Try a natural ant powder. They contain crushed fossils called Diatomaceous Earth that will dehydrate the ants, causing them to die.

You could also try Boric Acid or a commercial ant trap placed near, but not on, your plant.

Good luck, and give your plant my best. ;)

ask the ant spirit why it likes your plant.

can't you just raise or hang the pot somewhere so it is not in contact with the floor anymore?

You're talking about those green round boxes? Actually the ant doesn't die in there but takes the poison back with him to the colony.

Find their trail and kill the main colony hole (ie: stomp the hell out of the main door to their home) ; trail a line of honey away from your plant.

I wouldn't use any pesticides around the plant, it's not needed, really. Just lure them away from the plant.

Little ant fuckers want to get high-- but you can't let them!

Forgot to add--

Look closely at the plant for aphids and other bugs. If aphids appear get lady bugs. I don't believe lady bugs would do much to the plant other than eat the aphids.

lady bugs are good. you can buy ladybug larvae from biological control suppliers.
i believe they are an New Zealand or Australian species, treated so they never metamorphose. the larvae are monsters
