Popcorn mushies
I innoculated my popcorn kernals on Saturday, and I don't see any mycellium growin' at all. Pinhead, how long did it take for it to show up on your popcorn?? My mushrooms
Here is a picture of the top of my one cake. They've definitely got to be the mushrooms. I still think it's odd that they're growin' on the top first though, there was barely any mycelium on the top at all..and they started growin' just after a day of being in the terrarium...- Dan_kNugs

Hawaiian Cakes
Just a couple days ago I put my Hawaiian cakes in my terrarium. Yesterday when I looked at them one of the cakes was growin' these tiny grey bumps on the top of the cake, today they are grey spikes. Perlite?? Vermiculite??
Does anyone know if you can use perlite instead of vermiculite in the substrate mixture for mushrooms?? If so, what are the bad sides of using perlite??
