Which research ? Research by Poisson (1960) showed 93,5 % water by weight, and 95% water by other researchers. Both in the San Pedro Cactus (Trichocereus pachanoi = Echinopsis pachanoi). -

Can you show a picture of these Trichocereus bridgesii cuttings ? In the Netherlands there is only one webshop where you can buy long Achuma Cacti (Trichocereus bridgesii). A few webshops have them from 6-8 centimeter, and these cuttings they buy from that webshop. Or ..... they have a fake... -

any tips to grow faster?
Nitrogen (N) stimulates the growth of Cacti and other plants. Few Nitrogen (as in a Cactus fertilizer: N-P-K = 5-15-25) stimulates the growth less than a normal fertilizer (N-P-K = 20-20-20). So it indeed slows down the growth in comparison with normal fertilizers ! -

You have to chew a long time, and do not swallow the San Pedro. A foot or more (40 cm) San Pedro of 3 inch (7 - 8 cm) thick must be enough when you digest it. When you chew it you need less San Pedro. -

Sure, when you digest the Peyote 95 % of the Mescaline is absorbed in your liver. When you chew the San Pedro the Mescaline will be absorbed in tissue of your mouth. Much more Mescaline will reach your brains. -

papperige san pedro
Als de sp een beetje zacht aanvoelt kan dat door watergebrek zijn. Maar ook doordat het weefsel aan het rotten is. Is de kleur anders, reukt de sp vies, kan je een centimeter of meer in het weefsel duwen ? Voor een zonnig raam (zuid, zuidoost, zuidwest) is uitstekend voor Cactussen.- MrCactus

is this fertalizer useable?
Better is a special Cactus-fertilizer with low Nitrogen. Something like N-P-K-Mg of 5-20-40-3 . With 20-20-20 the Cacti will get too much N, and will grow to long and weak. Perhaps the San Pedro's will grow well, but the Peyote will grow much too long. -

No. But when there is too few light, a cactus will grow smaller and weaker when there is sufficient water and high enough temperatures. Bulbs or TL will not give enough light (20.000 Lux or more is needed). Many cacti need a grow stop (> 4 weeks) to make flower-buds in spring. -

Better gave them water from underneath every 1,5 - 2 weeks, totally drench the soil. No spraying. Better have them grow in natural light, but be aware of direct sunlight ! Be careful with too much fertilizer and too much (sprayed) water, which weakens the plant.. The Peyote's will grow too tall... -

Beware of too much sunshine at a window ! The temperature may not rise above 60-65 degrees Celsius. For seedlings perhaps not above 40-50 degrees. So it is saver to give seedlings some shadow from a newspaper. -

Artificial light can not replace normal sunlight. Cacti need some 20.000 lux for growing well, you can't get that from TL's or bulbs. When there is too few light in winter time (locations above 20-30 degrees northern latitude), it is best to give your Cacti a resting period by stop watering in... -

Cutting San Pedro
Take cuttings with warm weather, so that the cuttings will dry faster. You can dry cuttings with a big cutting-surface with a heater (1000-2000 watt). Place the cuttings at 50 cm distance, control the temperature of the cuttings. The drying time is 2-3 hours. -

This is Cereus (peruvianus ?) with flat ribs, with NO mescaline in it ! San Pedro Cacti (like Trichocereus peruvianus) have rounded ribs, and contain mescaline ! Even Ratsch in his book "Enzyklopädie der psychoaktiven Pflanzen" shows a picture which is ..... Cereus peruvianus like the pictures...
