Third Arc of Goa Weekend on the MS Stubnitz
On Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of November 2008, Namasté decides on the destiny of far world travellers and underground music culture lovers in an exuberant party on the MS Stubnitz. In five areas with in total over 40 DJ’s, live-acts and musicians the Arc of Goa Weekend will take you on a musical and cultural cruise to more sunny harbours, far beyond the horizon, in a world that seems to come from your most beautiful dreams.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 28 – THE ARC OF GOA; CONNECTING THE TRIBES
The Arc of Goa Weekend starts with ‘Connecting the Tribes’ on the Friday; a night full of Drum&Bass, Breakbeats, Reggae, Dubstep and music cultures alike. From 23.00 to 05.00 the tribe chiefs of the underground rule over the MS Stubnitz, while their followers dance around the sacrifice fires to dissipate the evil spirits that might be around.
The worldwide adored English Drum&Bass legend Aphrodite (Urban Takeover/V2 Records, UK) is being honored in Caste 1, where he will put the stem of this former East German fishing boat to the test with his energetic beats and breaks. A ritual to which the live-act Junglefever (Amen Warfare, NL) connects to with full dispossession, while the wide-acclaimed Rebecca (electric violin, UK) applies the singing of her violin. The Dutch underground tribes Lionstyle and Champion Sound cannot be missed at this edition and will open all registries for a tremendous night. Caste 2 is the territory for more layered beats, hissing hi-hats and other magical sounds. Get your feets moving while five domestic warriors chase the fattest Breakbeats, Elektropunk and Hiphop through the speakers. In Caste 3 King Shiloh in Dub introduces a ceremony of relaxing vibes and sunny soundscapes. This in strong contradiction with Caste 4 where the Stubnitz crew brings grim sounds at hearing, which are so fascinating at the same time that you simply can’t let them go. Caste 5 provides space for titillating and nutritive snacks in an atmosphere of Chill Out and Ambient music.

ZATERDAG 29 NOVEMBER – THE ARC OF GOA; CONNECTING CULTURES
The experienced Goa and Psytrance lovers will be pleasured with the program of the Saturday. But Namasté wouldn’t be Namasté if it wouldn’t provide space for Minimal Techno, world music in the broadest meaning of the word and even Acid. From 23.00 tot 08.00 the Stubnitz will be the stage for intense dancing and trancing people from all corners of the society.
The program of Caste 1 is one to lick your finger off at. As it happens, next to heroes of Dutch soil, the big English artists Merv (Mesmobeat/Solstice/Tipworld, UK) and G-Nome (Alchemy Records, UK) will bring their psychedelic turntable skills at hearing. And not just their turntable skills, as at November 29 you can also expect performances of the world famous and legendary live-act Eat Static (Mesmobeat/Solstice/Tipworld, UK) and the not less beloved formation Sonic Species (Alchemy Records, UK). In Caste 2 the founders of Berlin Undergound (Lofarmedia) and Mal Borrowed & Frei Bauwerker (Soulrock, NL) will sound full of pleasure with thick beats, which playfully bubble in your abdomen and make the dancing floor heave. The infamous Chaishop live-jam will let the living room feeling relive in Caste 3 with cultural and musical wallpaper full of Spanish, Chilean, Iranian, African and Indian influences. A feeling that will be festively reinforced with world music in the broadest meaning of the word. If you rather space to the roof on less earthly sounds, you can come and taste the sour in the sphere of influence of the animal oar. In Caste 4 descries the sub dimension of Zodiak Commune full of 303, cosmic energy and a zest of nostalgia from their fifteen years existence. In Caste 5 you can find again delicious and righteous snacks in a magical environment of Chill Out and Ambient music.
