Can't read PMs

Fellow Travelers: Members have posted PM's to me but when I try to retrieve them in the User Control Panel|Private Messages I see "You are not authorised to read private messages." Obviously I'm doing something pretty lame but after considerable effort I still can't figure out what it is. How do I access the messages? Please help me delame myself.

you have to have a certain number of posts in the forum before you can use PMs. don't ask me how much though. 10 or 20 or something.

A minimum of 20 posts is required to use the PM system; we enforced this rule in order to limit spam.
